Legion Expectations 2010 Season - From Coach Barsanti
1. Viper American Legion 2010 1st practice. Mandatory for players trying out for either the A team or the AA team. Tuesday May 18, 5:00 pm. Players must be absolutely prepared to practice at their maximum level of effort. Bring batting gloves, bats (absolutely no wood, or wood composite bats permitted at any Viper activity in the summer of 2010), athletic shoes (tied), no slippers, no slip-on shoes, no moccasins, wear baseball pants pulled up, baseball belts, baseball socks, cups are mandatory for all players, wear a tucked-in baseball related shirt, and wear a baseball cap properly. ABSOLUTELY NO SHIRTS OR APPAREL depicting or displaying some or any sort of camp or Baseball Northwest, or Team Idaho or any other earned or presumed to be earned accolade or team you may have made, or paid your way in to be a part of. Eagle High gear is OK. DO NOT BRING OR WEAR ANY VIPER RELATED GEAR, NO PLAYER HAS MADE EITHER OF THE 2010 VIPER BASEBALL TEAMS YET. Leave your baseball bags, and all of the rest of your baseball gear in the varsity dugout. Leave all of your electronic devices, of any kind, especially cell phones at home or in your car. These devices are not permitted at any 2010 Viper activity. DO NOT CALL OR WRITE ME FOR SPECIAL EXCEPTIONS.
Re: Wood bats above. DO NOT CALL ME OR WRITE ME REMINDING ME ABOUT THE WOOD BAT TOURNAMENT IN LATE JUNE. I already know.
2. Each player is required to bring a signed list of dates that the player will be unavailable for Viper 2010 activities starting with Tuesday May 18, through August 15. Viper game times vary. Viper AA practices will be after 5:00 pm on weekdays, and at anytime on weekends. The list must be signed by both the player and a parent. You must include with this list, the exact reason the player will be unavailable for each of the dates listed. I want it all out on the table before we even begin. NO EXCEPTIONS. THERE WILL BE NO ADDITIONS TO YOUR LIST ALLOWED AFTER MAY 18 at 5:00 pm. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A LIST, THEN YOU ARE COMMITTED TO BE AVAILABLE EVERY DAY. Each of you has 2+ days to put together your list. I am, as head coach of the 2010 Viper Baseball Program, officially considering this to be enough time for this task to be completed as requested. "I forgot" or "I didn't have enough time to make a list," in the Viper English Language, translate directly into," I'll be there every day."
3. Player and Parent Meeting. I have already spoken with numerous parents and players regarding your individual concerns for the summer. I already have a very general idea about all of your individual concerns. All 2010 Viper team concerns will be addressed and covered in a meeting after the teams are selected.
4. 2010 Freshmen players and parents, please encourage and invite all quality 8th grade players in the Eagle boundary area to try out for the 2010 Viper baseball program. Print this email so these players and their families are aware of what is required.
Thank you,
Coach Barsanti |
